Vegha VS Code

Import & export

Run Vegha: Import into Vegha… (also in the Collections view’s welcome screen and title bar) and pick a file. Supported formats:

  • Postman collections (v2 / v2.1) and environments
  • Insomnia exports
  • Thunder Client collections
  • OpenAPI 3.x and Swagger 2.0 (JSON or YAML)
  • WSDL and SoapUI projects
  • Bruno collections

The import becomes a new collection of .bru files in your workspace.

If your workspace has a thunder-tests/ folder (Thunder Client’s git-sync data), Vegha offers to import it when the workspace opens.

Import Environment… in the Environments view reads an environment from:

  • a Postman environment or globals export;
  • an Insomnia export;
  • a Thunder Client environment file;
  • a Vegha or Bruno environment (.env.json or .bru);
  • a dotenv (.env) file or a flat JSON object of names and values.

If a file holds several environments, Vegha asks which ones to import.

New Request from cURL… turns a cURL command into a request. You can also paste a cURL command into any request’s URL bar.

Run Vegha: Export Collection… and choose:

  • Postman collection v2.1
  • OpenAPI 3
  • Bruno
  • Insomnia

You can include environments or export requests only. Secret values are never exported.

Copy as Code… on any request generates a snippet in 30+ language and library targets, including cURL, C#, Go, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, PHP, PowerShell, Python, Ruby and Swift. Inherited headers and auth are included. Copy as cURL is a one-click shortcut.
