Vegha VS Code

Changelog

  • Visual request editor for .bru files — params, headers, every body type and auth — with the file as the source of truth (undo, dirty state, git diff all work).
  • HTTP, GraphQL (including subscriptions), WebSocket and gRPC requests.
  • Every auth type: Bearer, Basic, API key, OAuth 2.0 (client credentials, password, authorization code + PKCE in your browser), OAuth 1.0, AWS SigV4, Digest, NTLM, WSSE and mTLS.
  • Environments: collection and workspace environments, a visual environment editor that saves as you type, {{variable}} hover previews with set-in-place, and secret:// references through Azure Key Vault and AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Scripts and scriptless tests: pre-request / post-response JavaScript, test() blocks, assertions and response captures.
  • Request chaining: run prerequisite requests first (always, when a variable is empty, when stale, or when a variable matches).
  • Collection runner with iterations, CSV/JSON data files, delays, stop-on-failure and parallel mode; export runs as HTML, JUnit or JSON.
  • Test Explorer integration — every assertion and test() is its own test.
  • Import Postman, Insomnia, Thunder Client, OpenAPI/Swagger, WSDL/SoapUI and Bruno; export to Postman, OpenAPI 3, Bruno and Insomnia.
  • History (reopen any entry as a re-sendable request), cookies view, copy as code in 30+ languages, new request from cURL.
  • Git secret guard: plain-text credentials in .bru files get a warning and a quick fix, and staging them raises a warning.
  • AI: 21 language-model tools for Copilot agent mode, the @vegha chat participant, and an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor and other agents. Secrets are redacted before they reach a model.
